Packing Tips: How To Pack The Right Way

How difficult is it to pack some trips? If you’re anything like me, then you may have to decide between travel companions. When an assignment comes in, I have the daunting task of selecting who will accompany me. No, I’m not talking about a person, but instead am referring to which of my lovely travel bags will have the pleasure. If it’s a short trip, then possibly my Vera Bradley backpack will do. However, if I have need additional items, then it may require my faithful (of over 20 yrs,) Ralph Lauren tote bag and small roller bag. Then there’s my trusty Genius Pack Entrepreneur laptop bag, my large roller bag…my denim duffle, and of course my many weekenders to choose from. Regardless of who makes the cut, it’s super important that I have room for all the essentials- for my journey. For packing tips, click here to review a great little visual guide to help you prepare, before your next trip. Happy packing and safe travels!!!

  1. Thanks for sharing the list! It looks very helpful! I do find that I need to make a checklist before getting started, otherwise I always leave things off my list! I really like the print on your backpack too!

    • I can totally relate, Stella!! If I don’t have a list, I’m so in trouble. Thanks- I love a great Vera B. print too 🙂

  2. I’m a chronic overpacker and it has only become worse since having kids. In my defence though I’d prefer to have too much stuff than waste time trying to find something in an unfamiliar destination Thanks for the guide it’s very helpful

    • Oh I can only imagine how challenging it must be packing with kids! Bless you and glad the guide was a help 🙂

  3. Thanks for the tips! After being an overpacker most of my life, I’ve found that during my last few trips I’ve really under-packed, thinking I’d leave room for shopping. Yet, picky as I am, I rarely find that much to bring home and instead end up having to re-use clothes more than I’d like 😛 It’s hard finding the balance!

    • You’re welcome! I totally agree, Anja! Finding the perfect “packing balance” for each trip is a real chore at times 🙂 I always think..to pack or not to pack! That is the question. Lol

  4. Thanks for sharing! For me, packing is really the most dislikable step when traveling! I always leave it to the last minute!

    • I can totally understand! Packing is probably my least favorite thing to do for a trip also. However, I must confess that I’m an early packer…sometimes almost one-two weeks early, if I have enough notice, lol!
